Preserving Legends, Reviving Dreams

At Crystal Lake Motor Company, restorations are more than mechanical work — they are acts of preservation. We treat every project as a chance to honor the vision of the original craftsmen while ensuring the car is ready to be driven and admired for generations to come.

“Whether concours-level or driver-focused, our restorations are tailored to the vision of the client and the integrity of the car” CEO Don Recupido

Why CLMC

Our Approach

Restorations here are not about speed or shortcuts they are about getting it right. We combine:

  • Decades of engineering and fabrication expertise,
  • A network of trusted artisans and suppliers,
  • A commitment to craftsmanship that ensures every car we restore tells its story honestly.

Our goal is simple: to return each car to the road as if it had just left the factory — or, in some cases, to make it even better.

Every restoration follows a philosophy of authenticity, precision, and respect for heritage:

Chassis & Metalwork — stripped to bare metal, repaired with period-correct techniques, and refinished to original tolerances.

Body & Paint — bodywork shaped and blocked by hand, painted in authentic colors, and finished to concours or high-driver standards.

Mechanical — engines, gearboxes, suspension, and brakes rebuilt to perform as new, often with subtle improvements for reliability.

Interior & Trim — original materials sourced or recreated, with craftsmanship that captures the feel of the era.
